As man is, God once was; As God is, man may become.
According to their own LDS teachings, as their God has a body of
flesh and bone, he is limited to being in only one place at a
time.
THE BIBLICAL GOD
The biblical God is the eternal, self-existing First Cause. He
created and sustains the universe and all that is in it, so
everyone and everything that exists is subject to Him.
Moreover He is unique in that He is, always has been and always
will be the only God in existence. This means that He reigns
supreme over all. (The Bible teaches that all other so-called
gods are false gods, and behind every false god or idol stands
that great deceiver, Satan.)
Because He is spirit, the biblical God's presence permeates the
entire universe. So there is nothing He does not see or know. He
has no limitations as His abilities are infinite. He is
eternally unchanging, immortal and omnipotent, and unlike the
Mormon God He never had to progress in any way. And as He has
never, ever sinned, He didn't ever need salvation or forgiveness.
In other words, the biblical God is, always has been, and always
will be, far superior to mankind in every conceivable way.
The Bible teaches that both mankind and the angelic beings were
created by God, and not fathered by Him biologically as Mormons
are led to believe they were.
The following links lead to articles on this site that amplify the
teachings on both the Mormon and the biblical Gods. Unlike this
short article, they are fully referenced with both biblical and
LDS quotes.
